Last weekend, I had such a great weekend celebrating his birthday. Aside from getting to hang out with some of our closest friends, we finally went to see The Book of Mormon! I was afraid it wouldn’t live up to the crazy hype surrounding it, but we really loved it! Rent is still my all time favorite, but this one, along with Wicked, definitely makes my top three. What are some of your favorites?

I wore my new trench, a recent find from the Express outerwear section, which I’m always a fan of. They have a great selection of both trendy and classic pieces, without having to break the bank. Remember this coat from last year? Paired it with my high waisted jeans and this nifty little convertible backpack.

On another note, thank you for the comments on the last post! I love reading your Halloween ideas  and as far as Gone Girl, I promise to stick it out. Also, if there are any other MUST READ books out there, would love to hear.

TIP: when buying leather pants: they stretch out… a lot! When I first put these on, they were basically painted on. Later on in the day, they were practically a size larger. So when buying them, you want them fairly tight! I promise, they will give out. I kind of wish I had my black pair in a size smaller, since they sometimes give me « diaper butt, » but it’s a lesson learned!

After saying (over and over again) that I was planning to share some of my NYC favorites, it’s finally happening. This has been one of my most requested posts and something I’ve been meaning to do for much longer than I care to admit, so it only makes sense to start with my favorite thing about this incredible city: the food.

post

I often judge a restaurant by asking myself « am I excited to come back here? » and if the answer is yes, the place is a winner in my eyes. I’ve eaten at many, many restaurants in the city, and more often or not, I don’t return. It doesn’t always mean that I didn’t enjoy it, but rather, there are so many places to try and after a while, they begin to blend together. But then there are those special haunts that make such an impression that I can not wait to go back. With that said, I’m excited to share with you my absolute favorites in Manhattan.

Tip: If you’re not patient enough to wait a month before getting a prime time reservation, it’s fairly easy to get an early or late dinner seating (5:30 or 10 PM; then again, that goes for basically any restaurant in the city).
